In 1997 after 12 years in computer graphics and 7 years graphics compositing in Post Production it was time to go to Hollywood. My friend was about to get me in the legendary Special Effects house Boss Films when Richard Edlund closed it down! After freelancing around town I worked up to Post Logic on the $1,000 an hour Inferno system. It was too late.
It was 2000 and the beginning of the end for film. Special Effects used to be edited into the Film. It started to be the other way around, film was being digitized into the effects! Effects houses were merging or going out of business. Being pro-active I got out of the IRR and used the Army Reserves to start up my own "Boutique" studio. Hardly more than a year later 911 happens and I'm on the way to Afghanistan. With 36 years in the military, five trips to the middle east and travel all over the world I have some stories to tell. Stay Tuned.
