Intensive "Crash Course" for Beginning Actors

Tue 27 Jan

Actors brand new to the business, this is HIGHLY recommended!

VFT has a lot of new actors, so this should fill up quickly! James Runcorn is offering to give his feedback and share some of his experiences here in Hollywood with absolutely no strings attached. He has offered to help his fellow vets in giving a "crash course" of sorts into the industry. James is a talented actor and very kindhearted to offer to help other veterans.

James' bio:

U.S. Army Infantry Veteran ('93 - '95). I served in the Honor Guard (Old Guard) in Arlington National Cemetery, performing in hundreds of full-honor military funerals. I completed my duty serving as a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

The first time I set foot on stage was 1984. I attended Roosevelt School of the Arts (same school as Audra McDonald, Chris Gorham, & Mick Wingert) & graduated in '92. I graduated with my BA in Theatre/Acting from Fresno State in '00.

I moved to Los Angeles in 2001. That same year, my oldest son joined SAG and began working as a child actor - appearing in several national commercials, films, & recurred in several TV shows. I joined SAG in 2002.

I have appeared in commercials, TV shows, films, shorts, student films, web series, in comedy clubs performing stand-up across the U.S. and globally on stage. I portrayed Jesus in SoCal's premier Passion Play from 2011 - 2014, directed by Chip (Fields) Hurd, playing to over 10,000 audience members each Easter season. Recently as an actor I worked on a pilot for NBC called "Holding Patterns," written and produced by the masterminds behind "The Office." I also worked on an audio bible, also starring Chris Gorham, Patricia Heaton, Doug Jones, Mick Wingert, and many others - voicing Mark, Micah, and several other minor characters. I also helped with the casting of that project.

I produced and acted in a project for the 168 Film Festival ('14), starring 4 time Emmy Winner Michael Learned, and we won Best Comedy.
