"Don't give them what they want, give them what you are..."

From Veterans in Film & Television's Business of Acting Q & A with David Brandon, Linc Hand, Max Martini, Adam Farabee and Jack Kennedy earlier this week. Written by David Tenenbaum

Moments before a candid Q&A with four talented actors begins, Max Martini tells me he has no interest in sitting on stage in the already and beautifully laid out directors chairs with his colleagues.

I mention he'll have to tussle with the Jason Statham doppleganger and 6' 2" mass of Army veteran and VFT Director of Programs Jack Kennedy to sort it out. Laughs ensue.

But this is Max, Max Martini, the American-Canadian-Euro citizen who has had held some of the most dominant roles in combat films like Saving Private Ryan, Colombiana, Captain Philips, Pacific Rim, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and Spectral. No one argued. Did I mention he's also boxed for the past 12 years or so?... (read more)

VFT Supports UNITED WAY HOME WALK raising money to prevent homelessness
- by David Tenenbaum

Ask any VFT actor, writer, producer or member about the challenge of finding a fitting place to live in Los Angeles and I assure you, they'll swear that securing billeting was easier while serving in Afghanistan or Iraq. It's with both sympathy and empathy then that VFT board members, key staff, and member veterans marched along side about 15,000 at the United Way 2016 Home Walk this last weekend on November 19th in downtown LA. With a noble mission of ending homelessness here in Los Angeles through a variety of permanent housing programs, the nearly $1.5M raised will help some of LA's 47,000 homeless veterans and civilians move off the streets and into fitting homes....
